Sturdy vs. OurFamilyWizard

They do different jobs. Most families who need one still need the other.

OurFamilyWizard organises what happens between two households — the calendar, the money, the record of what was said. Sturdy coaches the parent inside one of them. Neither replaces the other, and this page is not going to pretend otherwise.

What OurFamilyWizard is good at

It solves a real problem, and it solves it well: two adults who cannot agree on what was said, when it was said, or who paid for the shoes. A neutral calendar, an expense ledger, and a message history that can be handed to a court are worth a great deal when the disagreement is factual. Courts accept it, which is why many families are ordered onto it in the first place. If that is your situation, keep it. Sturdy does not replace it and does not try to.

What Sturdy is good at

A different problem. Not what did we agree, but why does the same Tuesday keep happening. Sturdy interviews you for ten minutes, builds a private file on your kids and your rhythm, and then coaches you against it — a text before your hardest hour, an answer at 9:41pm when you have just lost it over homework, and a brief every Sunday on what actually shifted. It never coaches against your co-parent. De-escalation only, because your kids live in both houses and a coach that scores points for you costs them.

Where they touch

One place: the message you should not send. OurFamilyWizard can flag a message that reads as hostile before it goes. Sturdy will help you write the one that goes instead. A warning and a draft are different tools, and using both is not redundant.

If you can only pick one

If a court ordered OurFamilyWizard, that is not a choice — keep it. If your hardest problem is the record between two houses, that is theirs to solve, not ours. If your hardest problem is how the evenings go in your house — the standoff, the shutdown, the thing you said at 8:40pm that you are still thinking about — that is the one Sturdy was built for.

See what a coach would notice. The interview is free, takes about ten minutes, and ends with a read-back of what it heard — your patterns, each kid's season, the 90-day forecast. Yours to keep whether or not you subscribe.
